Governor Information
Our Governing Board provides strategic leadership and accountability across our federation.
The Federation of Liss Infant and Junior Schools' Governing Board is composed of a group of committed volunteers drawn from the community, each bringing a range of skills, expertise and professional experience. Our Governors provide essential links between the federation, our parents, carers and the local community and is ultimately responsible to the Department of Education for the performance of our schools.
Our Governing Board works with staff to provide the best possible framework for educating our pupils. They are involved in all aspects of school life and meet regularly with the federation's Senior Leadership Team.
Governors fulfill their responsibilities by:
- Holding school leaders to account for the educational and financial performance of the federation: the Governing Board creates robust accountability for the federation's leadership team through rigorous analysis of performance data and financial information.
- Setting the federation's vision and strategy for achieving this vision: the Governing Board agrees key priorities and and key performance indicators against which progress towards achieving the vision can be measured.
- Ensuring the federation's financial success and probity: the Governing Board ensures that the budget each school receives is managed effectively, with regard to value for money
Governors are appointed by the Governing Board, with the exception of Parent Governors who are elected by parents and carers, and Staff Governors who are elected by staff.
